Ukraine completes construction of a railway bridge in Turkmenistan

The financial and industrial group of Ukraine Altcom is at the final stage of the construction of a railway bridge across the Amu Darya River, according to the Neutral Turkmenistan newspaper.

The publication calls the bridge the most grandiose engineering structure in the Lebap region of Turkmenistan. In the near future, cargo and passengers will be transported here. Thanks to the creation of a high-strength structure, the railway bridge between Turkmenabat and Farab will ensure the movement of super-heavy freight trains.

The Turkmenabat-Farap transport corridor across the Amu Darya River consists of two complex engineering structures: a railway bridge 1750 meters long and a road bridge 1600 meters long and with a carriageway width of 21.5 meters.

Altcom Group announced in early June that the contract value for the project was estimated at $ 169 million. The Turkmenabat-Farab railway bridge will play an important role in the development of the local economy, as there is a junction station in Turkmenabat. This area is part of the Great Silk Road and is recognized as strategically important for international traffic and transportation.
