Ukraine intends to resume electricity supplies to Belarus and Moldova at the end of September 2016, according to a statement by Igor Nasalik, Minister of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine. Export supplies of electricity from Ukraine to Belarus stopped at the end of 2014.
On the air on the NewsOne TV channel, Nasalik said that “In late September - early October we will export electricity to Belarus and Moldova”. In addition, he expressed confidence that next year Ukraine will earn at least $ 350 million from the export of electricity.
According to the minister, Ukraine currently does not import "a single kilowatt of electricity", and in connection with the heat with an increase in energy consumption, gas-and-oil blocks were switched on. Thus, Ukraine manages to do without “rolling blackouts”.
However, Nasalik clarified that he was going to insist on the creation of a crisis headquarters for the prompt solution of problems that could presumably appear with a further increase in energy consumption in Ukraine.
