The US government has decided that it will support existing anti-dumping duties on pipeline valve orders from China, Brazil, Japan and Thailand.
The US International Trade Commission (ITC) in its final ruling said that the elimination of the current anti-dumping and countervailing duties on orders of carbon steel pipe fittings from these countries would lead to renewed property damage for the foreseeable future.
This is the fourth time the United States has issued ADs for carbon steel pipe fittings from these countries between 1986 and 1992. AD on groceries account for 182.9 - 87.3 percent.
The review was carried out every five years after the introduction of anti-dumping and countervailing duties. The Uruguay Round Agreements specify that the US Department of Commerce may waive anti-dumping or countervailing duties after five years.
China's Department of Commerce has repeatedly called on the United States to fulfill its commitments to trade protectionism and to work with China and other members of the international community to maintain a free, open global trading environment.
