Indonesia and Ukraine agreed to intensify cooperation in the agricultural sector. “Apart from technology transfer, it is hoped that Ukraine will invest in agriculture in Indonesia, especially wheat,” writes The Jacarta Post.
The President of this country was present at the signing of an agreement on cooperation in agriculture between the Minister of Agriculture Amran Suleiman and the Ukrainian Minister of Agrarian Policy and Food Taras Kutov.
“We offer Ukraine to invest in Indonesia, especially in the field of wheat cultivation, because the country is known for its experience in this product. We will try to develop wheat in Sumatra, ”Amran told reporters at the State Palace in Jakarta.
Ukraine is one of the largest wheat producers in the world. More than 60 percent of its total wheat exports go to Indonesia, while more than 60 percent of Indonesia's exports to Ukraine are palm oil, Foreign Minister Marsudi Retno said.
