According to the latest statistics released by the World Steel Association, the global crude steel output of the 66 countries reporting to the Association totaled 133.742 million tonnes in July this year. The monthly release is down slightly from the release recorded during the same month last year. These 66 countries produce about 99% of the world's total steel output.
The ten largest countries in the world in terms of total crude steel production during July 2016, thousand tonnes, are:

3. India 8082
4.US 6877
5.Russia 6131
6.South Korea 6009
7.Germany 3393
8. Brazil 2705
9.Turkey 2661
10.Italy 2065
Based on the cumulative volume of steel production during the first seven months of this year, the ranking of the top 7 countries remained the same as in July. However, Turkey took 8th place, Brazil 9th and Ukraine 10th.
