Minsk and Moscow have agreed on a new formula for gas prices, due to which Belarus will pay much less for raw materials.
Both sides agreed to change the price formula to eliminate dependence on uncertain "external factors". The gas price for Belarus will depend on the average gas price in Russia. In accordance with this, from the new year Belarus will pay about 6,000 thousand rubles (about $ 90) for 1000 m3. Later, the price may change depending on what happens in the Russian market.
Thus, an indefinite element - the US dollar - was removed in relations between Moscow and Minsk. In the period from January to July of this year, Russian gas supplies to Belarus amounted to 10.3 billion cubic meters. Belarus plays an important role in gas transit and, in addition, is an important ally of Russia.
Belarus will buy Russian gas 30 percent cheaper
