PJSC "Zaporizhstal" stopped sintering machine No. 6 to connect new gas cleaning equipment

PJSC "Zaporizhstal" stopped sintering machine No. 6 for 45 days to connect new gas cleaning equipment. Thus, out of six sintering machines of the combine, new gas cleaning equipment has already been installed on 5 sintering machines. The plant's investments in the ecological modernization of the sinter plant amounted to UAH 870 million.

PJSC "Zaporizhstal" is implementing an important environmental project for the modernization of the sinter plant, aimed at reducing the technogenic load on the region. “We have reached the finish line of modernization of our sintering plant, with the installation of new generation gas cleaning equipment on all sintering machines. New gas purifiers provide air purification from dust - up to 20 mg /m3, in terms of sulfur dioxide - below 400 mg /m3, and, I hope, this result will be clearly visible through the pipes of the sinter plant, ”stressed Rostislav Shurma, General Director of PJSC“ Zaporizhstal ”.

The shutdown of sinter machine No. 6 will make it possible to carry out a full cycle of installation and commissioning works, to connect new gas cleaning systems to the technological equipment of sinter machines.

Gas cleaning is an integral part of sinter production. The draft equipment, installed in conjunction with the gas cleaning system, simultaneously provides stable air seepage through the sintered agglomerate layer and the supply of exhaust air to bag filters for two-stage cleaning.
