The US Department of Commerce said it tentatively concluded that imports of stainless steel sheet and strip imported from China were dumped in the US market at below fair value.
The department proposes to establish preliminary anti-dumping duties in the amount of 63.86 percent and 76.64 percent.
Any final decision on tax duties will depend on the determination by the US International Trade Commission that domestic producers have suffered damage.
The investigation was initiated by AK Steel Corp, Allegheny Ludlum LLC, ATI Flat Rolled Products, North American Stainless and Outokumpu Stainless USA LLC.
