Iran has begun formal negotiations with the Brazilian aircraft manufacturer Embraer. A delegation from the Brazilian company visited Tehran last week to negotiate the details of the deal with Iranian airline executives.
During a three-day stay in Tehran, Embraer representatives held talks with all Iranian airlines, during which technical and financial issues were discussed. On one tribute to the visit, Embraer launched two test flights of its aircraft. Earlier, in March 2016, Iran reached preliminary agreements with Embraer to import 20 aircraft.
Representatives of the leading aircraft manufacturers, Boeing and Airbus, are slated to visit Iran soon to discuss the sale of the aircraft, following a permit issued by the US Treasury Department.
In addition, Boeing announced on September 21 that the US Treasury Department had issued the necessary authorization to the enterprise to sell 80 aircraft out of a total of 109 aircraft to the Islamic Republic. The deal with Boeing is estimated at $ 25 billion. Iran is also going to buy 111 Airbus aircraft.
