Shandong Steel Group plans to expand its investments in Sierra Leone by investing $ 700 million in the construction of processing plants. The chairman of the Chinese steel company said this during a visit to Sierra Leone.
He assured the president of that country that the goal of the company in Sierra Leone is to work "in close cooperation with the government to enhance economic cooperation between China and Sierra Leone."

President Koroma endorsed the Shandong Steel Group's intention to scale up its operations by injecting investment into its operations and pledged continued support from his government.
