While global financial markets have faltered after Republican candidate Donald Trump won the race to the White House, the country's coal and oil industries began to count the days to see promises come true.
Throughout his campaign, Trump has repeatedly vowed to save the coal industry after years of bankruptcies and job cuts for miners. He said he is seeking to ease restrictions on the entire mining industry and end US participation in international climate agreements.
On the other hand, the renewables sector can face tough times, as Trump has often questioned federal support for solar and wind projects during his campaign. Analysts are already predicting a pullback in green energy subsidies next year.
