The EU has decided to impose anti-dumping duties on seamless pipes made in China of up to more than 80 percent. The EU 28 thus wants to protect itself from the influx of subsidized goods.
The products that have been the subject of anti-dumping measures are used in power plants, construction sites, and the oil and gas industry. The investigation confirmed that Chinese products were sold in Europe at prices significantly lower than those in China, the European Commission said in a statement on Monday.
In order to help European producers, Brussels decided to introduce duties, which should range from 43.5 percent to 81.1 percent. “This should prevent harm to European companies involved in the production of steel pipes,” the European Commission said.
