According to analysts at Fitch Ratings, China's steel exports will remain at around 100 million tonnes next year. China's steel production this year may be similar to the past and next years. Steel exports will be supported by the low yuan exchange rate and cheaper raw materials.
According to Fitch Ratings, steel consumption in China will continue to remain at 700 - 705 million tonnes next year. This will be due to the weakening of the real estate market, the lack of clear growth in the development of infrastructure, but against the backdrop of positive forecasts for the production of cars and household appliances.
Fitch also estimates that the Chinese steel industry is not becoming more in demand, which contributes to high exports of steel products. Although China has eliminated tens of millions of tons of production capacity, it is still building a new network. Therefore, de facto, we should rather talk about increasing efficiency and reducing the impact on the environment without reducing the volume of steel production.
