Russian metallurgists recorded a 5 percent increase in crude steel production in November to 5.975 million tonnes. While for 11 months, production amounted to 64.623 million tons, decreasing by 0.4% on an annualized level. During the period from January to November, the drop in steel output gradually decreased.
Let's see how this happened: in the first quarter, production fell by 5.4%; according to the results of the half-year, the decline has already amounted to 1.4%, and for 9 months the drop in output was 1.3%. In three quarters, most steel companies in Russia have restored or even increased their production volumes and their profits.
It is expected that in 2017 in Russia there will be a slight rise in steel consumption in the context of the country's economic recovery, which may have a positive effect on the Russian metallurgy.
