Due to cold winter weather and a decrease in its own gas production in Europe, Russian energy giant Gazprom is once again supplied to Europe with a record daily amount of 615.5 million cubic meters of gas.
The supply growth continues almost daily. Thus, the third record year for Russian gas supplies to Europe is expected.
“In light of low temperatures, declining domestic gas production in Europe and growing demand for natural gas in the market, a fundamentally new level of gas supplies to Europe has been reached,” said Alexey Miller.
In addition, he also attributes the success to the Nord Stream pipeline, which has set a new record since early 2017. It is noted that 165.2 million cubic meters of gas will now be pumped daily from Russia through the Baltic Sea to Germany to Central Europe.
