North Korea celebrated its leader Kim Jong-un's birthday on January 8 without new missile tests. He allegedly turned 35 on Sunday. Although, "without a missile test, there is no certainty about his actual birthday," various news agencies ironically note.
At a briefing on Friday, South Korean Minister Jong Joon-hee warned: "North Korea is ready at any time to respond to the military movement on provocations .."
In his New Year's address on January 1, Kim Jong-un said that North Korea is "in the final stages of preparing to test an intercontinental ballistic missile." However, he did not give a date for the launch of these long-range missiles, which could reach the mainland of the United States.
