India's largest producer, Tata Steel, announces that the company produced 3.15 million tonnes of steel in the third quarter of the 2016/17 fiscal year ended December 31, increasing its output by 24% over the same period in the 2015/16 fiscal year.
In addition, pig iron production reached 3.4 million tonnes, an increase of 27% over the same period. Tata Steel's finished steel production totaled 3.16 million tonnes, up 26% year-on-year.
