Major iron ore importers and exporters presented the latest statistics

Countries around the world released iron ore trade data for last November. Data released by Ukraine indicates that the country's iron ore exports totaled $ 186.2 million in November last year. China was the main importer of Ukrainian iron ore. The volume of imports from China reached $ 54.73 million, which is almost 30% of Ukraine's total exports during the month. The total exports of iron ore in the country in January-November 2016 amounted to $ 1.6 billion, while imports were estimated at $ 70.86 million.

According to the Turkish Statistical Institute (TUIK), Turkey imported 9.671 million tonnes of iron ore between January-November 2016, up 4.4% from a year earlier. Brazil was the main exporter of steelmaking raw materials to Turkey for eleven months. Imports from Brazil amounted to 4.79 million tonnes, accounting for almost 50% of Turkey's total imports during this period. The second largest supplier of iron ore to Turkey was Russia with 1.62 million tonnes, accounting for 16.8% of Turkish imports. The other major exporters for eleven months were Sweden (1.5 million tonnes, 15.5%) and Ukraine (870,000 tonnes, 9%).

Meanwhile, the latest customs statistics released by Iran show a 45% increase in iron ore exports during the first three quarters of 2016. Exports amounted to 13.08 million tons during this period.

According to the latest statistics released by the Brazilian Ministry of Development, Industry and Foreign Trade, during December 2016, the country's iron ore exports totaled 35.11 million tons. At the same time, exports grew by almost 12% compared to the previous month. However, exports were down significantly 11.2% from the same month a year earlier. Exports totaled $ 1.76 billion during the month. The country's iron ore exports totaled 31.439 million tons in November last year. The largest importer of iron ore from Brazil during the month was China. Imports to China amounted to 18.990 million tons, worth $ 707.5 million.
