The PXL II line was created at the Mlada Boleslav plant in a specially built building with an area of 11.6 thousand square meters. Investments amounted to 86.4 million euros. The opening of the line enables the company to use large components made of aluminum for the production of vehicles. From March, production is expected to reach over 20,000 parts per day.
The new stamping line is an important contribution to the future of the Škoda brand. In addition to standard energy efficiency, manufacturing flexibility is ensured and downtime is significantly reduced. Compared to conventional systems, the Skoda line consumes 15 percent less electricity.
Currently undergoing testing and optimization. In March 2017, production is due to start at full capacity and will reach up to 23,000 parts per day for various models.
