Negotiations with Ukrainians on the future of the Gdansk Shipyard

The Polish Development Fund announces the development strategy of the Gdansk shipyard: "We are negotiating with the Ukrainians about a common future strategy in relation to the Gdansk shipyard and GSG Towers." In December, the Industrial Development Agency increased its stake in GSG Towers, which owns the Gdansk Shipyard, from 25 to 50 percent. “This was the execution of previous investment agreements, and now we are equal partners with the Ukrainians,” the Agency explains.

The Gdansk shipyard needs restructuring in order to carry out large contracts, which requires a strong financial position. “So far, two meetings have been held with representatives of the shareholders of the Ukrainian yard of PFR. At the moment, none of the parties has submitted an investment proposal, ”explains the Polish side.

“We are considering various options, including whether to accept a controlling stake in Stocznia Gdansk SA. We have 50 percent of the share and we have gained wider access to the company, allowing us to better understand the current situation. We will analyze the situation for 2-3 months before making a final decision, ”the Poles explain.
