Coal stocks in warehouses of thermal power plants (TPPs) of Ukraine in January 2017 decreased by 5.5% and as of February 1, 2017 amounted to 1.948 million tons, according to the Ministry of Energy and Coal Industry.
In particular, the reserves of long-flame coal amounted to 905.900 tons, while the reserves of anthracite amounted to 1.042 million tons. Fuel oil reserves at TPPs in January fell by 23.5% to 87,100 tons. The largest reserves are concentrated in the warehouses of the Kiev combined heat production.
Coal reserves at TPPs as of February 1, 2017 were 26.5% lower than on February 1, 2016, and fuel oil reserves were 33.3% less.
Natural gas consumption at power plants in January 2017 amounted to 646.4 million cubic meters against 771.1 million cubic meters in January 2016 and 718.1 million cubic meters in December 2016.
In January 2017, 19,900 tons of imported coal were supplied to TPPs and combined heat and power plants, in particular, Russia supplied 93,500 tons, South Africa 59,100 tons of coal, and Poland - 47,400 tons.
