Russian gas company Gazprom has selected six pipe suppliers for the construction of the Power of Siberia gas pipeline. The contracts are worth over a billion dollars.
The tender includes the supply of 549.233 thousand tons of large-diameter pipes for 65.8 billion rubles. The delivery of the first batch of pipes will begin in the second quarter of 2017. All deliveries should be completed by the fourth quarter of next year.
Who won the tender?
Pipes in the amount of 24 billion rubles will be provided by the Moscow plant New Pipe Technologies LLC. The contract for 14.9 billion rubles was won by the Vyksa Metallurgical Plant (an OMK company). The Izhora Metallurgical Plant (Sverstal enterprise) received a contract for 11.4 billion rubles. Chelyabinsk Pipe-Rolling Plant (ChTPZ Group) will supply over 13 billion rubles.
The gas pipeline from Russia to China is 2.2 thousand kilometers long. Up to 38 billion cubic meters of gas will have to be supplied annually. Investment costs in very difficult climatic conditions are estimated at tens of billions of dollars.
