Metallurgists of Zaporizhstal opposed the blockade of railway communication with Donbass

The labor collective of "Zaporizhstal" appealed to the mayor Vladimir Buryak and the city council deputies with an appeal to use all methods and means admissible by the law of Ukraine to resolve the problem of blocking railway communication with Donbass as soon as possible. This was reported on the company's website.

The raw materials blockade of railway communication with Donbass causes irreparable damage to the Ukrainian economy, its energy system and industrial sector. The energy system of Ukraine is experiencing an acute shortage of power-generating coal, which carries the threat of rolling blackouts. The metallurgical enterprises of the industry are stalled against the background of a shortage of coking coal. The labor collective of the enterprise is extremely concerned about the consequences of the blockade: in particular, the resulting shortage of coal necessary for the operation of Ukrainian thermal power plants. The state of emergency in the energy sector is the first step towards rolling blackouts, which will entail production interruptions, loss of orders, a significant drop in wages, a decrease in tax payments and foreign exchange earnings.

"Industrial enterprises and the population will remain without electricity, which threatens the emergence of man-made and humanitarian disasters," - noted in the appeal of the labor collective of PJSC "Zaporizhstal".

Every Ukrainian family will feel the consequences of the blockade on themselves - in their home, on their family budget, metallurgists are sure. People will literally lose light, heat, water - this means a complete collapse of the entire system of housing and communal services, their infrastructure and the economy as a whole.

Metallurgists of "Zaporizhstal" call on the mayor and the entire deputy corps of the City Council to respond to the current situation and take all possible measures to stop blocking the railway communication in Donbass.
