According to the World Steel Association (WSA), steel production in the four major countries in the Middle East showed double-digit growth in January 2017 as regional steel production rebounded.
The World Steel Association controls four countries in the Middle East, where crude steel production in January rose 13.5% to 2.57 million tonnes over the same period last year.
Steel production in Iran increased by 11.3% to 1.52 million tons over the same period last year. Saudi Arabia increased production by 16% to 483,000 tons over the corresponding period last year. Qatar increased production by 24.1% to 247,000 tons over the same period last year. The United Arab Emirates increased steel output 12.9% to 318,000 tonnes over the same period last year.
