The International Nickel Study Group (INSG) reports that in January 2017, the global nickel market continued to experience a supply deficit of 1,100 tonnes. In January, global consumption of refined nickel reached 170,100 tons, up slightly from 169,000 tons in the same month.
At the same time, INSG will also cut its forecast for the global supply deficit to 49,500 tons.
