Taiwan's China Steel (CSC) has invested in Sakura Ferroalloys in Malaysia as part of the cooperation. Two years ago, CSC bought steel products from Sakura for fabrication. This resulted in the CSC being able to make procurement more sustainable.
Since 2008, CSC, Sumitomo Corporation and Assmang South African companies have joint ventures including Sakura Ferroalloys.
In this venture, CSC Taiwan owns 19% of the shares; Sumitomo Corporation owns 26.6% of the shares; Assmang owns 54.4% of the shares.
