China in March this year increased its stainless steel exports to 347,000 tons, up 54.9% over the previous month and 3.3% over the same period in 2016. Although, in general, the export of carbon steel from China continues the downward trend.
Among the main types of stainless steel: exports of coils and plates amounted to 283,000 tons, up 49.3% compared to last month and 7.6% more than last year; strip exports totaled 14,000 tons, up 97.5% from last month and down 34% from last year; pipe exports amounted to 34,000 tons, up 78.3% over the previous month and 7.3% up over the previous year; profile exports totaled 17,000 tons, up 90.3% over the previous month and down 18.7% over the previous year.
China's stainless steel exports to Korea amounted to 78,900 tons; Taiwan - 59,000 tons and Vietnam - 38,900 tons.
