The Chilean Copper Commission (Cochilco) forecast, based on the opinion of 14 experts, suggests that the international average copper price will be at $ 2.50 ~ 2.75 /lb in 2017.
Among 14 experts, 11 experts predicted that the copper market will be in deficit this year at an average of 151,000 tons, while the other 3 experts predicted a surplus of 183,000 tons.
As of May 18, the international average copper price was US $ 2.62 /lb this year, up 20% from $ 2.14 /lb last year.
