US President Donald Trump has already informed the closest and most reliable employees that he intends to withdraw from the Paris Agreement on the prevention of climate change, signed in December 2015.
While German Chancellor Angela Merkel said on Saturday after the G7 summit in Sicily that she would not agree to any compromises on issues related to the fight against climate change.
The Paris Agreement was signed in December 2015 by 195 countries to keep the global average temperature rise below 2 degrees Celsius. It requires ratification by at least 55 countries, which together account for 55 percent of global pollution.
Trump has repeatedly expressed his disagreement with the provisions of the agreement signed in Paris under the UN Climate Change Convention, and considers it too costly for the United States.
The climate issue was the most controversial during the G7 meeting in Taormina. Against this background, it was decided by Angela Merkel to abandon the traditional press conference after closing. The company's media quoted Merkel as saying that the entire discussion on climate change was difficult and "unsatisfactory."
