Physical volumes of export of pig iron from Ukraine for 5 months decreased by 12.5 percent

In January-May 2017, Ukraine reduced the export of pig iron in physical terms by 12.5 percent compared to the same period last year (APPG) - to 737.389 thousand tons.

According to customs statistics released by the State Fiscal Service of Ukraine, during the specified period, the export of pig iron in monetary terms increased by 43.4 percent - to $ 219.125 million.

At the same time, pig iron was exported mainly to the United States (58.02 percent of deliveries in monetary terms), Italy (15.68) and Turkey (13.47).

In January-May-2017, Ukraine imported 1,162 thousand tons of similar products in the amount of 586 thousand dollars, while in January-May 2016 it imported 736 tons of pig iron in the amount of 247 thousand dollars. The import was carried out mainly from Russia (85.32 percent of deliveries in monetary terms) and Germany (14.51).

As reported, in 2016 Ukraine increased the export of pig iron by 16.9 percent compared to 2015 - up to 2 million 540.011 thousand tons. Pig iron export in monetary terms increased by 7.9 percent - up to USD 551.215 million.

At the same time, exports were carried out mainly to the United States (29.61 percent of deliveries in monetary terms), Turkey (27.41) and Italy (25.76).

In 2016, Ukraine imported 1,755 thousand pig iron in the amount of 661 thousand dollars, while in 2015 imported 3,431 thousand tons of similar products for 1.177 million dollars. The import was carried out mainly from Russia (75.45 percent of deliveries in monetary terms), Germany (16.69) and Italy (4.58).
