Production of iron ore raw materials increased in Ukraine in May

The GOKs and mines of Ukraine in May 2017 produced 6.076 million tons of iron ore, which is 1.6% or 97.5 thousand tons more than in April.

Average daily production of unprepared iron ore amounted to 133.9 thousand tons, which is less than 22.0 thousand tons in April, and for prepared raw materials increased to 62.1 thousand tons from 43.4 thousand tons.

In the first five months of this year, iron ore production by mining enterprises in Ukraine amounted to 29.55 million tons, which is 1.76 million tons less than in the same period in 2016.

The total volume of supplies of iron ore raw materials in May by Ukrainian mining companies to domestic metallurgical plants (taking into account the agglomerate with the Ilyich Iron and Steel Works and the estimated supply of iron ore from divisions to ArcelorMittal KR, but excluding imported iron ore) amounted to 2,694 thousand tons, which is 149 thousand tons. tons more than in April.

Compared to the previous month, the volume of purchases of raw materials from domestic producers decreased most significantly from AMKR (by 19 thousand tons), and the greatest growth was demonstrated by supplies to the Azovstal steel plant (an increase by 111 thousand tons).
