Gazprom has already built more than 220 km of the offshore section of the pipeline, according to the president of the Russian company, Alexei Miller. The length of the offshore section of the pipeline is expected to reach 910 km, and the onshore section in Turkey - 180 km.
Gazprom began construction of the offshore section of the Turkish Stream pipeline on May 7 on the Russian Black Sea coast. This project involves the construction of a gas pipeline under the Black Sea to the European part of Turkey and to the border with Greece.
One string will supply gas to the Turkish market, while the other will be used to supply gas to the countries of Southern and Southeastern Europe. The capacity of each line is 17.75 billion cubic meters of gas per year. Miller announced in June that the construction of the two lines of the Turkish Stream will be completed in 2019.
