Steel production in Asia is growing faster than in Europe. Poland, on the other hand, increased production by almost one fifth.
In Poland, 910 thousand were produced. tons of steel, up 18.1 percent for the year. Taking into account all 8 months of the year, the growth is even greater and amounts to 19.2%, as production increased to 6.941 million tons.
The EU produced 12.622 million tons, up 3.6 percent. Germany increased production by 3.3 percent to 3.629 million tons. More than 15% growth was recorded in France - production reached 1.135 million tons. In Italy, 1.093 million tons were smelted, which practically does not differ from last year. Spain produced 1.092 million tons, down 2.7 percent. High double-digit declines occurred in the Czech Republic and Slovakia, which produced 363 thousand tonnes and 354 thousand tonnes. tons.
For 8 months, production in the European Union increased by 4.3%. In Germany, the growth was 2.1%, and in Italy - by 1.7%. France has high growth - 11.5%, Spain - 2.2%.
In Ukraine and Russia, production falls by less than five percent. In Russia, production fell to 5.6 million tons, and in Ukraine - to 1.8 million tons. On a 8-month scale, the decline in Russia is less than 1%, while in Ukraine it is much higher, reaching 13.9%.
