The Mariupol metallurgical plant Azovstal, according to UGMK.info, plans to produce about 71 thousand tons of heavy plate in January 2017, which is 14 percent less than the result of the previous month.
It is explained that the reduction in the production of sheet metal products is associated with a seasonal drop in demand, mainly from foreign buyers. As you know, the bulk of the thick plate is exported by Azovstal to the countries of the European Union.
In 2017, the mill shipped only about 980 thousand tons of hot-rolled steel, which is 38 percent more than the previous year. Including 41 thousand tons were supplied to the domestic market, which is 33 percent less than in the APPG, and 939 thousand tons were exported, which is 45 percent more than in 2016.
