PJSC "ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih" launches a new complex for the transportation of iron ore

In the current year, the volume of iron ore production at the mine. Artem PJSC "ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih" is planned to be increased to 1.013 million tons (in 2017 - 757.6 thousand tons). This will allow the enterprise to fully meet its needs in sinter ore.

The growth of underground mining volumes will be achieved thanks to the launch of the crushing and bunkering complex of the horizon - 1,135 meters and the inclined transport development No. 2. Only on this horizon of the mine will production triple.

Previously, trolleys and a cage were used to lift ore to the surface, the process was laborious and time-consuming. The new complex will make it possible to efficiently transport the mined ore using the existing technological chain in the mine and skip hoisting. For this, a belt conveyor with a total length of 380 meters with an angle of inclination of 16 degrees was installed. The maximum conveyor capacity is 400 tons per hour.

A separate electrical substation was built to power the complex underground. The new facility is equipped with a fire alarm and fire extinguishing system. During the construction of the complex, equipment from domestic manufacturers was used, one of which is the Novokramatorsk Machine-Building Plant.

In general, investments in the construction of the 1,135-meter horizon and the new ore transportation complex amounted to US $ 43.8 million.

- ArcelorMittal continues a large-scale investment program aimed at modernizing its Kryvyi Rih enterprise until 2020. We open 2018 with new completed projects. The launch of the crushing and bunkering complex of the horizon - 1,135 m and inclined transport working No. 2 is another step towards the renewal of the capacities of the mining sector of the enterprise. This will give us the opportunity to significantly increase underground mining and sinter ore production, and to fulfill the production program.
In addition, this year we set ourselves the goal of implementing a number of repair and capital construction projects and producing 10 million tons of concentrate - to fully ensure our production. Of these, 2.025 million tons will be exported to Eastern Europe to related enterprises of ArcelorMittal.
