Copper prices on the London Metal Exchange are rising by almost 1 percent. Higher interest in goods in the markets due to the low dollar prices at which, among other things, copper is valued. Metal on the LME in 3-month delivery was worth $ 7,108.50 a tonne after the opening of trading, but now it is up 0.9%.
On Monday (Jan 29), base metals are also supported by zinc, which has already gained 2.9 percent on the LME to $ 14,040 a tonne - the highest since May 2015.
"Zinc provides support for other metals," says Jia Zheng, a trader at Shanghai Minghong Investment Co.
On Friday (January 26), copper on the LME was at $ 7,085 /t, down $ 53 or 0.7%, but the whole week ended with a very good result - a 7.3% increase in quotes. This is the strongest weekly gain since the week ending Nov 3, 2017.
Copper is clearly growing alongside other base metals
