During January 2018, 1.94 million tons of pig iron were produced in Ukraine, which is 2% more than in December 2017; produced 1.9 million tons of steel, which is 0.5% higher and 1.68 million tons of rolled metal, which is 1% lower than the previous month.
For the first month of 2018, in comparison with January 2017, 105% of pig iron, 94% of steel, 93% of rolled products were produced in comparison with January 2017 (taking into account the activities in January-February 2017 of capacities located on the tubing).
Metallurgical enterprises located in the controlled territory in January 2018 compared to January 2017 produced: pig iron 127%, steel 110%, rolled 110%.
A significant increase in the production of the main types of products was achieved thanks to the successful reconstruction and timely overhaul of the main facilities at PJSC Zaporizhstal, PrJSC MMK named after Ilyich, PrJSC Azostal, as well as stabilization of the operation of PJSC Dnipro Metallurgical Plant after a long forced downtime in 2017.
