The European Commission is ready to provide mediation between Moscow and Kiev after the Russian concern "Gazprom" eased pressure on transit pipelines in Ukraine.
"Gazprom" is forced to immediately begin, before the court of Stockholm, the procedure for terminating supply and transfer contracts with the Ukrainian "Naftogaz" - said the head of "Gazprom" Alexei Miller in a statement published on Twitter.
We are talking about agreements in force until 2019 regulating the supply of Russian gas to Ukraine and the transit of blue fuel through the territory of this country to European countries.
The press secretary of the European Commission Anna-Kaisa Itkonen emphasizes that the decrease in the pressure of Russian gas on transit pipelines in Ukraine has not yet caused distortions in supplies to the EU countries.
