ArcelorMittal said it has accepted new terms for the purchase of the Ilva steel mill. Steel giant ArcelorMittal said on Tuesday that it will agree to the conditions set by the Italian authorities for the purchase of the controversial steel company Ilva, which could lead to its acquisition of Europe's largest steel mill.
ArcelorMittal told Italian authorities that it “accepts all requests for further commitments” with respect to its plan to buy a plant in southern Italy, it said in a statement.
He asked the Italian government to support its negotiations with the unions to reach a final agreement, she added.
