Contrary to government announcements, Poles are buying more and more Russian raw materials such as oil, gas and coal, as Rzeczpospolita writes about.
Although the government has declared Poland's independence from fuel from the East, imports of Russian gas, oil and coal are growing at their best. Imports of Russian coal to Poland increased by 119% in 2018.
From January to July, Gazprom increased the total volume of supplies to European countries by 5.8 percent. Purchases of Russian crude oil have increased. The oil company Rosneft announced that by the end of 2020 it will supply Gdansk from 6.4 to 12.6 million tons of oil. As a result, the Russians will satisfy from a quarter of the needs of the Polish company, to a maximum of half. The dynamics of imports of Russian coal is also growing. From January to May, Poles have already imported 5.1 million tons of this raw material, which is twice as much as in the same period in 2017. 2018 by 119%.
