According to the Turkish Association of Iron and Steel Producers, production of finished steel in Turkey in the first half of 2018 increased by 9% to 20.5 million tonnes per year.
In the first half of 2018, steel production increased by 0.6% to 12.6 million tonnes, and sheet steel output increased by 25.8% to 8 million tonnes per year.
Total finished steel consumption increased 11.5% YoY to 18mn tonnes in 1H 2018.
At the same time, domestic consumption of flat steel products increased by 18.3% to 9.6 million tonnes per year. Consumption of long steel products increased by 4.6% to 8.4 million tonnes per year.
Consumption of flat steel products accounted for 53% of the total consumption of domestic steel.
Production of rolled metal products in Turkey increased by 9%
