Indonesia's Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources set its September benchmark coal price, also known as Harga Batubara Acuan or HBA, at $ 104.81 per tonne, down 2.8% from August but up 13.8% on an annualized basis.
The ministry set the price for August at $ 107.83 per ton, and for September 2017 - $ 92.03 per ton.
In August, Platts FOB Kalimantan averaged $ 118.29 per tonne daily, up from $ 120.74 per tonne in the previous month.
The HBA price for thermal coal is the basis for determining the prices of 77 Indonesian coal products and calculating the royalties that must be paid for each ton of coal sold.
