British steelmaker British Steel has announced the elimination of 400 jobs. A company that employs 5,000 people, explaining to people this process by "reducing" costs.
Most of the cuts will affect managerial and administrative positions at factories in the UK, Ireland, France and the Netherlands. British Steel chairman Roland Junck said the decision was difficult but necessary.
“Unfortunately, the continuation of our transformation requires reductions. Without them, the company would remain unbalanced, which would be dangerous for its future, the future of 5,000 employees and more than a thousand employees for sub-suppliers, ”added Junck.
British Steel was part of the Tata Steel group acquired by the Greybull Foundation.
