ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih increased production

PJSC "ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih" completed the planned restoration of blast furnace No. 7, due to which the production of pig iron increased to 16 thousand tons per day, and by mid-October it will increase to 17 thousand tons.

Investments in the renovation of the blast furnace amounted to almost UAH 240 million. The repair lasted 110 days. It was carried out by the maintenance and repair department of PJSC "ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih" with the involvement of 10 contractors.

During this time, the blast furnace has replaced the charging device, sections of the furnace casing with a total weight of 46 tons. To extend the service life of the refractory masonry, to reduce the effect of high temperature on the casing, 337 cooling plates of the blast furnace shaft were replaced - this is practically all the coolers of the furnace shaft cooling system. The lining of the kiln shaft was restored by shotcreting. With this method, 564 tons of refractory concrete were applied. 40 tons of concrete are poured between the cooling plates and the furnace casing. Also, the metal structures of the charge feeding equipment were repaired.

Special attention was paid to the repair of damaged areas of the lining of the metal receiver of blast furnace No. 7. It is one of the main working spaces of the furnace, where there is an active movement of smelting products, high temperatures are present, and chemical reactions take place. All this affects the increased wear of the lining. In the course of the repair, the lining in the areas of greatest wear was partially restored using the latest technologies and materials.
