During 9 months of 2018, metallurgical enterprises of Ukraine produced 13.83 million tons of rolled metal, which is 3% higher compared to the corresponding period of 2017. Of this volume, about 11.22 million tons were exported, which is 81.1%. For the same period last year, the share of exports amounted to 10.75 million tons, or 79.7% (with a total volume of 13.45 million tons).
The share of semi-finished products in export deliveries for 9 months of 2018 accounted for 43.78%, which is noticeably higher than the indicator for the period January-September 2017 (39.46%). The share of both flat and long products in export deliveries for 9 months of 2018 is slightly lower than for the same period in 2017 (for flat products 34.84% and 35.70%, respectively, for long products - 21.38% and 24 , 84%).
For 9 months of 2018, 3,692.2 thousand tons of rolled metal were supplied to domestic consumers, of which 1,078.2 thousand tons, or 29.2%, accounted for imports. For the same period in 2017, the domestic market consumed 3,654.4 thousand tons, of which 952.5 thousand tons, or 26.1%, were imported. Thus, for 9 months 2018. the growth in consumption of rolled metal in the domestic market amounted to 1.03% compared to January-September 2017, with an outstripping growth in the import component (13.20%).
The structure of imports for 9 months of 2018 is characterized by a slight domination of flat products over long products (49.38% and 47.50%, respectively); in the same period in 2017 it was as follows - 58.52% versus 40.54%.
The main export markets for Ukrainian metal products in 9 months of 2018 are the countries of the European Union (32.9%), Africa (17.4%), other European countries, including Turkey (13.5%) and the Middle East (11, one%).
Among the importers for 8 months of 2018, the first place is occupied by the CIS (55.1%), the second is the countries of Asia (18.4%), the EU (17.7%) is the third.
