ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih carries out repairs of buildings and structures

This year ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih is launching a large-scale program for the repair of buildings and structures, which was adopted in 2017. The program is designed for three years - for 2018–2020. This year alone, UAH 265 million was allocated for these purposes. Next year, the company will finance the program in the amount of UAH 165 million. And for the entire period, the costs will be about UAH 600 million.

In just three years, it is planned to renovate more than 250 objects. Of these, about 80 - this year, the same number - next. The lack of qualified contractors, which PJSC ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih attracts for repair and construction works, impedes maintaining a higher rate of repairs of buildings and structures.

Valeriy Vanin, Deputy Director of the Department for Organization of Repairs of the Central Department for Maintenance and Repairs of ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih PJSC:

- The market for such services in Ukraine is now such that it is almost impossible to find 15–20 reliable partners at the same time. Every year he is experiencing an increasing deficit of labor resources. We are in constant contact with contractors, and we know that their staff often leaves in units, teams, travels to near and far abroad. Often there is no one to replace them, and new workers who come to replace them do not always have the necessary qualifications. Therefore, we have to look for performers throughout Ukraine in order to simultaneously carry out work on many objects.

Nevertheless, in 2020 we hope to fully implement this program. We do not need to overhaul all buildings and structures, each of them has a certain service life. But we still have some of the buildings built in the 50-60s, so I do not exclude that in 2020, after analyzing the implementation of the current program, we will accept the next one for 3-5 years, the implementation of which will also require significant financial investments.
