Within the framework of the program for technological modernization, Zaporizhstal launched a blast furnace No. 4 after a major overhaul. Investments amounted to about 100 million hryvnias.
Within 15 days of overhaul, the bell-less charging device was replaced, new heat exchangers and cooling plates were installed, the mechanisms of the foundry yard equipment were repaired, the refractory lining of the furnace was completely restored.
In the course of the work, full technical maintenance of the aspiration of the casting yard and the under-bunker overpass, as well as gas cleaning, was carried out. After blowing in the furnace, the aspiration and gas cleaning systems operate at the maximum productive parameters, in accordance with the norms of Ukrainian legislation, - the concentration of dust at the outlet is up to 20 mg /m³.
It should be noted that blast furnace No. 4 is equipped with modern control and measuring devices, which allow to automate the operation of the furnace as much as possible in accordance with the best world practices, the blast furnace capacity is 1.1 million tons of pig iron per year.
