The remaining 3.50 million tonnes of steel came from other producers. Total finished steel production in the reporting month was 10.87 million tonnes, up 3.6 percent from the 10.50 million tonnes produced in November 2017, the report said.
In November, India's hot metal production totaled 6.15 million tonnes, up 8.6 percent from last year.
Pig iron production increased to 0.49 million tonnes from 0.47 million tonnes in November 2017. India has set a target to produce 300 million tonnes of steel by 2030. In this regard, the Cabinet of Ministers has already approved a national steel policy.
