JSPL's managing director said steel consumption in India is likely to grow by 7 percent in 2019.
“If you look at India's steel use in 2018, it grew more than 8 percent. It is expected to increase by just over 7 percent in 2019. So the growth rate is lower, but the growth is pretty nice, ”Ansari said.
“We see that demand slightly decreased by the end of December, including in January, but subsequently it began to grow. Today we have no problem selling the products we have. We can sell all products despite our growth, which is happening significantly, ”he added.
In terms of steel prices, he also noted: “The last two quarters have also been something of a roller coaster. At some point, they could even rise to 48,000-49,000 rupees per ton, now we are talking about 45,000-47,000 rupees per ton, so there has certainly been some decline. ”
