The Mexican government has decided to open an investigation into the alleged dumping of cold rolled stainless steel imports from China and Taiwan. These actions follow from a complaint from a local manufacturer and trader, Outokumpu Mexinox (OTK).
Mexico's Minister of Economy noted that there is ample evidence of damage to domestic production of cold-rolled, heat-resistant and corrosion-resistant stainless steel flat products. The study covers products with a width of more than 600 mm and a thickness of 0.3 to 1.0 mm, a width of less than 600 mm and a thickness of 0.3 to 4 mm. They are classified under the codes 7219.34.01, 7219.35.01 and 7220.20.02.
The investigation period is from October 1, 2017 to September 30, 2018.
